SubscriberMany years ago, the shift foreman at the joint I worked at went to help one of his mates cut down a tree in his back yard.
The shift foreman, who was knowledgeable in all things, carefully measured and planned things so the tree would fall in just the right place. He then got stuck into with the chainsaw and watched with a dropped jaw as it fell on the neighbours house.
The neighbour came storming to confront the culprit only to have the shift foreman's jaw drop even further - the mate's neighbour turned out to be the shift union delegate.
There was great mirth at work that following week when the story leaked out how the shift foreman had demolished half the union delegate's house without causing an industrial incident.

Cant for the life of me find it, but i saw a pic the other day that had a poster for the Northen Ireland Alzheimer Societys annual Gala dinner 'A Night To Remember'....brilliant.
