When we went through security at Sydney Airport a couple of weeks back, Elisabeth's handbag was swabbed for explosives. I heard the security guys say to some kids that he was checking for fireworks.

He later explained to me that saying "fireworks" doesn't get the kids worried whereas saying "explosives" might.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if people did try to carry fireworks.
