Oh and the upshot of it all, this will be re listed in the markets shortly.

I left Yesterday morning at 6:00 AM and towed my Series from my place to Wodonga to meet a bloke and his son who had 'bought' it as per the ad I had posted in the markets here ($100 deposit paid into my bank). When I met them, the bloke checked it out, and told me that my ad stated it was a 1966 IIA (which is what it was advertised and registered as when I bought it six years ago), when he cleaned the spring hanger with sandpaper and a rag it came up as a 1960 Series II (which was confirmed by a thread I made that day). (It says 143000968)
After a bit of discussion he said that'd I'd made a very severe misrepresentation and because of that I should let him take it without paying the balance of $700. I said I wouldn't accept $100 for the car and wouldn't be returning the deposit because I'd towed it 150 km to meet him (and that was why I asked for a deposit to be paid straight away in the first bloody place).
Parting words were that he was going to report it to the police, though I haven't heard a word and can't see why I'd be in any trouble - I clearly said in my emails if I met them halfway I wanted a deposit of $100.
PS. On a completely different note, I went for a bit of a drive after I got back to calm down, I reckon Strathbogie shire has got to be the best part of Victoria. I try and live up here as often as possible, house overlooks this
near here
and here
Spent the 100 on diesel, bundy and lunch![]()

It looks like a good buy to me, shouldn't the price go up a bit if it's older![]()
i'll take it for $800 and buy you a Bundy and lunch if you meet me halfway....
..............tasi
ps where's Strathbogie shire....it's very nice country, bit like here
yea I would have bumped the price up a bit - it's more desireable
Honestly though - sounds like an honest mistake, how can the buyer not understand?
$100 is just an insult...![]()
Also did you state that you wanted a 'non-refundable' deposit - or was this assumed already?
Was the prospect an AULRO member?
Don't name him, just a yes or no would suffice.
I ask because I didn't think non-members could access the Markets.

The guy is an idiot. A SII would be worth more than a SIIA.
What a twit!
Wrong year or not, what difference does it make?!
It's not like a Series II is worth any less than a IIA!
I would have bought it off you months ago if it were in NSW.
Keep at it. She'll sell.![]()
