We will have to raise the mounts i think, i had a look at the mounts at the moment, they are about an inch away from hitting the floor/body if raised, but if we raise them forward and up this will allow another inch or to to extend them is this fine to do? (i see you mensioned something similar in your above post)

    Thanks in advance...TIM.
You sound like a cleaver chap... Try this..... Take some measurements of the trailing arms and A frame etc. Measure the existing shock mounts and angles. Now scale it down and make cardboard cut outs. Use thumb tacks as pivots. Now lay the simulated shock over and see how much more travel you get with the same length shock.
It does make the shock work harder so has less damping in effect. If you are clever with maths you can work out the ratio diference from this model
It just happens the mentioned shock is heavy enough to get away with it on a Landy if you get it right

This is how I go about mix and matching things at times so I know they work I guess others these days use an expensive computer program

Have you looked at how i have mounted my shocks? i have raised the mounts and have 32in extended shocks, these have about 15in of travel if i remember correctly, the thing that limits me now is the bushes on the trailing arms and A-frame ball joint.

So much for not going over the top with it

Just had a look at the mounts on the county and found it would be very hard to raise the mounts due to the bloody isuzu exhaust route
We can't run the exhaust strate down the centre either because the PTO shafts will be going through there

Nope no bodylift on mine, it would be a bitch of a job doing a bodylift on a defender,,,

I forgot about the isuzu exhaust setup, that makes things very difficult but im sure a good exhaust shop could knock something up to get around the higher mounts or PTO setup for you.

    Looks good.

My uncle has a Hillman Imp that uses a Peugot engine.
Stiil in pristine condition. Looks almost brand new. He also has a Mini and a Ford Anglia in also pristine condition.

The woodlands around the house looks cool.

D2 with 2" Ironman lift suspension. Roll bar disconnects to follow.
