    Flexing

Had a bit of a play with shocks the sarv, i put one of my long travel shocks onto the rear of the county.
Not a huge amount of travel but just about right, a hell of a lot more than it has with standard hight bilsteins

After these pics were taken i put my other longer shock on, it bottamed out on the compressed side way before the extended side topped out
Will have to either extend the rear top shock mounts or get taller coils (or both) to fit shocks of this length.

so here's a 64 dollar question how much is too much flex??

my 79RR had about 13" of travel my current disco a bit less, I would like more out of her and will get around to doing it one day but I am curious about when is enough enough? I have seen plenty of those extreme flex rigs and I dont believe they are all they are cracked up to be. I am aiming for around 15" to 16" or in metric 550mm to 600mm if I can.

Does anyone know what the maximum flex is before it becomes less effective for traction?

Thats great flex Tim, should be happy with that. Is that a Peugeot 505 in the background?

As for the flex question, thats something that comes down to individual preference too. After all, if flex has to do with gaining traction, then it could be argued that putting in lockers will help where flex is maxed out. I think theres threads on here about the topic.

Yeh i just plan to tie my springs in(or dislocation cones) and get some longer travel shocks. One day as cash is short at the moment and my transfer is dying.

Yep we have about 5 505's in the back yard, along with a couple of 504's
