Well, I DID buy the 90...

Well, since yesterday, I have flown to Sydney, checked out the 90, bought it and driven it back to Adelaide.

It needs a few things done to it (as one might expect of an 85,000Km vehicle), but not that much:
o Missing the winch controller (TJM hand controller for the 9000Lb Premier)
o One of the spotties doesn't work
o Both front headlamps need replacing, as they are "milky" inside the lens
o Drivers door doesn't shut nicely, so needs a new striker plate I think
o Only 1 set of keys

Other than that it is pretty mint! Went very nicely all the way back. The tyres are HORRIBLE though (GoodYear MTRs). Huge tread vibration and LOTS of noise.

Fuel usage was 11.4L/100, which I was a little disappointed in, given that I only had an overnight bag and my swag. Might need to check out the air filter etc...

Here's a picture from this morning waking up somwehere on the Hay plains:

The route was an "interesting" ride back.

I borrowed my brother's Garmin GPS, and followed its every turn, but damn, did it take me on an unusual route!! I have driven Adel/Syd 20 times but have never been the way this thing directed me. Little backstreets in towns I had never heard of

Was brilliant in Sydney though. Got me from the Lane Cove tunnel out to the Hume really quickly and easily.

Not sure how much I had to pay in tolls. Am about to ring up and pay them next.

    Congratulations mate!

I bet you woke up looked at the 90 and had one of them Owner Land Rover moments where you simply sigh and smile

Then realise you have a family to get too

    Looking good mate, congrats!

Going 110km/h on MTR's doesn't do noise inside the cab any favours, especially if your load area is not loaded and/or well-lined. Come to think of it, it doesn't help the fuel consumption much either... even if 110 was all you were doing!

I am going to get some Michelin XZLs or XZYs, probably the "not muddies" one which ever that may be.
