While Gerry McGovern may be Design Director at LR, he's not in charge of engineering or product development, and so can hardly be held responsible for not putting a hose clamp on!

That's one thing about Land Rovers, they're like a good wine ... they improve with age, that is of course, providing you don't "open" them for a number of years

Somebody really needs to find and isolate the Landrover gene...

Woman: "A Landrover fan? But doctor that can't be, my husbands family have driven Toyotas for generations. My background has Patrols, Suzukis and yes think Nanna had an F100 but I swear nobody has wanted a Landrover"

Dr: "The results are ireffutable Mrs Blenkinsop, the child will want a Landrover. This is very rare but throwbacks are not unknown. There is hope it will be a D3 or Rangie Sport and while treatment is expensive it is not considered serious. Usually however it means a Defender or worse a Series restoration."

Father; "Dr is there anything that can be done? Is the child's life all mapped out? If we are aware and teach the child and show it the folly of Landroverdom"

Dr: "Can you teach the tide? Can you show the wind where to blow? Your dreams of of retirement are down the gurglet, he will never be able to support you and the shed and spare room will be...well let's not dwell on the negatives. Go to this webiste, they are like a self help group. Don't go near the Puma threads however, I don't want you worrying youself sick."

But remember, Blinky spent that time in Siberia.

He seemed different when he came back.
