    Lost camera at the Olgas

As the title said, I have lost my camera at the Olgas, just got back to the vehicle and had systems going haywire in the vehicle (turned out it was over worked inverter), sat the camera on the bonnet, bag on the ground and sorted the problem. Put the bag in the car and drove off. Stopped 10km up the rd for some more pics and released what I had done. Went straight back but it was to late. Have reported it to the Yulara Police and the HF base in alice is spreading the word on the skeds. At this point if I only got the card back I would be a happy man. dont hold much hope though. Now planning what the replacement camera will be (one with a long string) and the next trip up the Gunbarrel to replace all my pics. I did have a few pics on a point and shoot plus about 5hrs of vid. At the time I was so devistated I nearly head to home, only for some wonderful travellers on frienly words I would have done. My hat off to those people

What a pain! As you say, even if you get the card back, it wouldn't be so bad.

    Oh, was it the Olgas?

You can still have a great trip with no pics

Fingers crossed someone's conscience makes them own up and get it back to you
Your right of course, but the pics of the dingo tracks close to the swag or the camel tracks you took a picture of and followed them for 3 hrs before you found them, yep in my head but hard to share.
    cheers

I wish I could swear! What an absolute mongrel! I can imagine how I'd feel if I'd lost all my pics from my recent trip. I didn't take a laptop but I had a lot of memory cards and changed them every few days, full or not.

This brings to mind the storage of pix which I'll raise in another thread.
