Defender TD5 Cruise control. Limited to 110?

Anyone else here have Cruise Control on their Defender TD5? I think it is using the inbuilt ECU controller.

Can you get it to go over 110? Mine (on the 90) will hold 100 or 90 or 110, but anything over and it falls back to 110.

Trouble is, 110 on the speedo is only 104 real Kms/Hr, so I'd like to set it at 118 on the speedo (110 real Km/h).

Can anyone else pull more than 110 out of their Cruise Control?

I think you will find that many, if not most (Euro particularly) CCs do not operate above 70 mph. That is so on my V8 and bike (USA built).

pretty sure my 90 did over 110kph on cruise.
i usually sit 10khp over on the motorways. so ide say i would have had it on 120kph more than once

Yep got an aftermarket one, the Autron.

But I've never tried to cruise 110 or higher.

The permanent fix is to recalibrate the speedo. Search on Truspeed, which comes from Iceland. Works well with TD5s. I sourced mine from a mob in Melbourne, whose name escapes me. Slunnie will know.

Anyway, withe Truspeed, you can adjust the reading with a small screwdriver, against a GPS. Its actually switchable, for standard & larger tyres, but that's not something you necesssarily need.

I've got it on mine and I'm not sure I've tried cruise at 120+. Next opportunity I get I'll give it a go for you!

Alright. Seems I better work out whether it is an "internal" ECU jobbie, or an add-on one like Tusker's AutoTron.

Thanks for the info so far.
