    I always called them gash bits....

    always fun to find a hand full of nuts and bolts that you know belong inside an engine (big end bolts are particulalry good) put them on the bottom of someones tool tray then "notice" them just as they are about to hit the start button.

    you'll be surprised at how often it happens because you've replaced one use bolts + washers and not thrown the old ones out.
