Alcohol and petrol/diesel do not mix

    Got this from a colleaque.
The driver aperantly had his "drink" bottle top embeded in his left arm.
The schackle hit the rear roof seam at the middle top. Bearly visible on this photo.
The recovery vehicle reversed up to this one, put on the tow rope and drove off. This rope was attached to the tow ball of a Rangy.
The ball also ended up on the rear seat of the pick up.
    All escaped with minor injuries.
This whole meeting aperantly had lots of "fluids" doing the rounds.

(potential for harm here huge looking at the spectators, a flying rope, shackle and tow ball could very very easy be fatal)

And they are allowed to vote???????

How many times has this happened, but some people will never learn

Accidents do happen, granted, but looks like this one could have been avoided

Dont know how many times I have heard not to use the tow ball... yet people still do! Very lucky no one was killed, I wonder if the spectators where also that close during the incident, because said tow ball could have killed someone in the crowd too

You used to see a lot of drunks in trouble on the beach once upon a time. Particularly Fraser Island where groups would go there for a week or more at a time supposedly fishing. One of these regular groups used to have a rule that if you drank you needed to take a carton for every day otherwise you would run out. Also rum in case of medicinal need. No wonder there were plenty of a over t 4wd's and plenty imitating submarines.

And I tell you what I could be wrong but that really really looks like a kinetic rope!!!

If so they were asking for trouble with a tow ball as I think they can store up to something like 3 times the energy of a normal strap...and can stretch something like 20%

EDIT: here you go found this just like I thought.

Kinetic ropes can be very dangerous if used incorrectly, both to people or property. Because of the more than 20% stretch of a kinetic rope, the forces created with momentum can easily overcome the breaking limits of anchoring points, connectors (shackles), or the kinetic rope. The elasticity of the kinetic rope can create a slingshot effect, which can cause serious damage or injury to people

This is why Ian sold his after using it once or twice he deemed it tooooo dangerous and got rid of it

I must say that the tow ball did not break.
It tore the whole bracket off the tow bar.
Will post a photo of the Rover tomorrow this time.(Photo is at work)
