    Rangier Rover's outdoor Wood Heater

After spending a few days at Tony's place cleaning his Work shop

I've come to the conclusion that this versatile outdoor wood heater is a "Must have" for those really cold nights

had to stand a few feet away as heat was really intense.

Keep up the good work mate , and when are we going to see some progress pics of 89 Rangie project build up of yours .

soon I hope , there should be no excuse now , I envy your workshop

I'm assuming the drums are bits of mum's old whirlpool?

interior shots? or does the fire fill the entire drum?

It surprises me that it does not soften and crumple under its own weight once self sustaining fission is attained.

I always thought the same.... gets really hot when oil is driped on it with extra flue pipes

Nice pic of the VFB wood heater I also will add it make a strange sound sometimes when a 600ml container gets dropped in

The Rangie is progressing well now....I shoved the 45 back in last night to do the electrics and exhaust

Just looking at the background of the next pic..... Looks a lot diferent here now

That's exactly right , the drums are out of an old washing machine , and the fire pretty much fills up the inside of the drums , when you hold an air gun tip attached to a big air compressor for a Loooong time the flue up top starts to Glow

I will Also add the mixture of the gases have to be correct for the strage sound to sound better

I think the background looks very "lived in". Being the type of person I am, I firmly believe that "tidiness stifles creativity"

Several years ago I was determined to tidy my shed, and backed the trailer inside ready for "the big dump run". Two days later I had nearly filled a small cardboard box not bigger than an Esky, which I promptly placed in the wheelie bin, being more than half floor sweepings and electrode ends I figured that I could let it go, although at one stage I did have some misgivings about some of those electrode stubs... Y' just never know????

Ahhh,.... the old explosive ash removal system. It appears to work very well.

    2C2H + O2 I presume by the fast reaction.

This brings to mind my method of getting into a crowded bonfire on a cold night when one's fellow travellers are clustered all about leaving little or no room. One tablespoon of FFFFG powder in an old envelope or just a piece of crumpled paper. No one takes any notice of someone tossing a discarded wrapper into the fire and it's surprising how long it takes to "go up". WHOOFF!!

Soon you have all the room you need
