This morninig I got a call from my wife to tell me that my brother inlaw's daughter had taken her life.

Unfortunately she had always suffered from serious depression, but still at mid twenties its a tragic loss of life and something NO parent should go through...

I spent all day with them, police were great in the way they handled this situation too, very sensitive and compasionate as well.

My heart goes out to him and hes family, being an only child only makes matters worse. He has done everything he could as a father, and he is a genuine and loving father and person.

My prayers and thoughts go out to him and family.

May she now find and rest in peace.

My younger sister has also got serious depression, and has been close to that before. I hope that there is some kind of breakthrough in treatment that can cure this awful disease.

I suffer from manic depression myself and I know how hard the black dog can bite.

Sorry to hear about this. I know only too well about it - my brother similarly lost at about the same age a nephew of his wife that they had brought up as their own son to a large extent.
