I always flash 3 times before changing lanes.
I'm one of those courteous ones that will let the decent courteous people in, but (when in the green machine) if drivers are rude or arrogant, I stick to the rules and just keep on trucking, I'd like to see them run into me.
Hehehe I know what my Disco's worth compared to their vehicles, AND how much I'm insured for
Hey, really, it costs **** all to do the right thing.

when i had my jeep it was great no one was gaim to not let me in......except for one guy who decided that why driving his old corolla he wanted my lane(i was in the right lane 50k zone) so he moved over and straight into me pushed me half onto a medium strip so i tried to regain my lane and i did after a short battle than he pulled over and sat in his car stunned i went and asked if her was ok........after he pulled his earplugs out yes im serious he was driving with earplugs he was shocked but ok got out and had a look at where he had big black 35in swirl makrs from the front quater panel to the back and nearly up to the window every panel was dinted to buggery he could barely open the doors anyways as he leaves he hops in adjusts the mirros and says there we go i can see in the lane now of course all it done to the jeep was put some red marks on the tires

I was parked at a bottle shop on the exit of a major carpark one friday evening. Started up and tried to back out into the traffic flow that was exiting the car park. No gaps and no bugger would let me in.
A big gap came up so I started to reverse and the moron coming up had to accelerate and close me out.
    RIGHT!!!
Low range, forward over the car park edging.
Across a bit of grass, step down onto the foot path, another big step down onto the road.
    Then the sweet bit......
The moron had to give way to me as I idled passed the driveway in low low.
I gave him a nice wave though.

And why do we drive over medium strips and gutters,,,,

    CAUSE WE CAN,,,,,

Did you know that at least in NSW the rules for merging or ending lanes changed in 2008?

Where once the vehicle that had any part of the vehicle ahead of the vehicle in the adjacent lane had the right of way, irrespective of any lane or road markings. Now since 2008, if the road markings have a dotted line that goes between the lane marking and the edge of the road then the driver who has to cross the dotted lines has to give way to any vehicles in the other lane. (See Rule 148: NSW Legislation )

So if you are driving a B double in the slow lane and your prime mover comes up to one of those dotted lines ending your lane and you have to merge, you are now required to slow down or stop to give way to any car in the fast lane. This even means the tiny runabout who is adjacent the rear of your second trailer now has right of way.

    Absurd isn't it!

When I used to drive for the family business I had a regular runs up and down the South Coast. On the return to Nowra I was usually empty and the ACCO could get up a little speed although it still died on hills. You would come up behind cars and so your ambient speed was greater than theirs, but every time you went around them they'd race around you and slow back to their previous less than the speed limit rate. You could almost guarantee that you'd get at least one of these idiots every trip.

An ACCO getting up a little speed.......?:

This was a civilian ACCO not a military AACO or Mk3/4/5, but I take your point about the Perkins and Neuss powered smaller models.

I saw probably the worst ever lane changing on my way home last night, in slow moving traffic this fwit in a suby outback drove between lanes forcing other vehicles out of the way and then darted to the right straight across 5 lanes of traffic where there was no room for even a motorbike , and then preceeded to do the same for the next 1k of road, he was lucking he didnt try and push me out otherwise his outback would have just been out..... no back. I was in total shock that no one hesitated in letting him get away with it.

If i was A in this diagram and B vehicles nose was infront i always give way just as a common sense rule but it amazes me how some people think that they can scream up from behind and try and cut you off.

Patrool drivers I find always like being being at the front at the lights, so not only Landy's are in their sights but any vehicle for that matter.

Just my observation, not scientifically proven.
