Mr Garret, AKA Enviroment care taker believe that extinction is inevitable
The link is HERE
If keep going like this the human race extinction will be inevitable
Are we going to learn that we are part of the ecosystem that we are destroying?
Cheers
Extinction is O.K.
If that wasn't the case we'd all be getting eaten by dinosaurs.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
But we are of the Earth, not from Mars or some other far off galaxy and we obviously are out competing the species going to extinction. (Good or bad it's ...) Pure Darwinian Evolutionary Theory .

BTW: the extinction of the dinosaurs was not actually "of the Earth". The consensus of scientific opinion currently holds that the extinction of the dinosaurs was the result of a massive impact from some extra terrestial body most probably hitting the Earth somewhere around the Gulf of Mexico if the GoM is not actually the resulting crater.

Mr Garret how does anyone know what the result of interventionist policies will be, regardless of how well meaning they are. As stated by Diana, extinction is part of the evoloutionary system. The human race has had an impact on the earth, not all good or bad. The result of human manipulation of extinctional trends, is no different to spewing out toxic polloutants.

Peter Bloody Garrett.......
I had fond memories of my childhood listening to the Oils...even went to a few concerts and loved 'em. Now, I can't even listen to them - makes me want to chuck the stereo out the window
Maybe I grew up or he just should've stuck to the music and ditched the wannabe Politician gig? He consistantly makes a goose out of himself...

anyone that believes the Earth is forever is fooling themselves. Whichever way you look at it, this Planet, like all Planets has a certain life span and humans cannot survive without consuming the Earth's resources. So, unless we exterminate a couple of billion people it can never be sustainable, and even if that happens, it could all end due to other factors, eg., sun melt down, meteorite collision etc etc.
So, I find his views quite on this issue refreshing for a poli. After all, the typical poli would spout on about sustainability blah, blah, blah
