not planning on going into full time driving just yet i just needed it as im trying to get onto the wonthaggi desal job!! and having it helps even if i dont use it since i'll prob end up back in an excavator

Well done! I did the same a while ago too. Nothing like driving a vehicle down the road which doesn't actually fit inside the lane!!! Good you got the nonsynchro, but most of the HR's these days have got synchro (a term which is used very loosly on these vehicles as you still need to shuffle down a bit)

What is the big deal about getting a rigid truck licence? Even if a HR allows you to pulll a heavy trailer. Bloody authorities make every thing complicated. Synchro or non-synchro is a load of crap, either is just a manual gearbox. If you can't drive manual you should not be on the road in anything. Road Rangers can be driven single, double, or no clutch. Sliding gear crash boxes needed a bit of finess, and twin stick a little more.
