no, they are all in it together. I can't recommend Shannons (too expensive) nor RACT/AAMI as they have very low market valuations especially for Rovers and their annual depreciation rates are alarming

Just got my renewal
35% increase on last yearThrough TCIS and Lumley Special Vehicles
( Wesfarmers bought it out and jacked up the premiums by 35%. Fact !Barstards)
To rub salt into the wound they also devalued the car by $ 10000.WTF !
Anyone have a recomendation for an insurer that still covers you off road , river xings etc.
(Allianz , CGU and Avero were much the same in terms of $ for cover through TCIS. TCIS were the company recomended by 4WD Vic I believe , as providing good value cover for members of clubs)
I also have three other older LR 4WD I would like to cover for limited use km's per year.
Any ideas , please

try NRMA, they were $170 cheaper and cover everything , some extras require minor premium increases, but they didnt balk on a thing and asked me if I wanted to cover extra things like lockers and lights. I was with aami for 30yrs and they didnt give a dam, I offered them the chance to give same cover but they werent interested.
I had a smiliar rant about insurance premiums going up adn agreed value going down a short while ago (over in the Sopabox). Anyway, I am still with NRMA because I have other policies with them I get multi-policy discounts and becuase they do cover you for using yoour car off road.
As an interesting additional to insurance cover, I recently added my missus to my insurance and the premium came down by $60 a year. It's not a lot but it is something but I still don't understand why adding an extra driver (under 30 years of age) to my insurance descreased the premium.

Wait until you get your house insurance, due to the fires and floods the poor insurance companies have had to fork out a lot of $ ,so they will recoup it from us policy holders![]()
Well, I'm glad it's not just me. I had the house and five cars with Suncorp and they had been great for years, until about a year ago. The premiums started "creeping" up by as much as 25% (and that one was an MGA that does about 600 miles a year). I have so far managed to talk them down a bit each time. I put my most recent purchase under AAMI, just to see how it goes. The premium was about 10% less than Suncorp, because they give you a decent discount if you set it up and pay online.
I told Tcis that I wouldn't be needing there services anymore, that I was going with a cheaper quote at Nrma and low and behold, They matched it.
I still changed to Nrma.
