    hard top removal

how long does it take to remove a series three LWB hard top, as I need to take a series 3 tub home, and do not have a trailer. Our worst tub may eventually become a trailer.

It mainly depends on how well glued on it is and how rusty the bolts are.

Easy access, rust free bolts, a ratchet and a good stanley knife - then <30 mins for one person.

EDIT - however remember that you will have no upper seat belt mounts then...

If you had sufficient padding and lots of rope you could put the tub straight on the roof.

I would put the tub upside down on the roof with wooden crossbars to spread the load onto the ribs, or alternatively, make purpose built load bars and bolt them to the tub. A crossbar, padded underneath to rest on the ribs, and with feet at least six inches long to fit in the gutters and clamped to them should work. The tub is not all that heavy.

Obviously needs to be well secured, and take it easy.

Personally, I would probably rent a trailer - you can carry a tub on a 6x4 box trailer - I've done it.
