    That Warm Fuzzy Feeling :D

Got Safara (my Defender) back on the road yesterday after almost a month up on axle stands (see this thread for the story)...went for a drive today...

Call me slightly non compos mentis, but driving along today on a dirt track, sun shining, clouds moving lazily by, a gentle breeze coming in the window and with the sound of the 200Tdi, LT77 and LT230 giving power to the wheels, I couldn't help but feel a certain warm fuzzy feeling toward Safara (platonically of course )...there's something special about owning a Land Rover, and even more special when you're out in the bush in one.

When was your last "warm fuzzy feeling" moment with your Land Rover?

Going by the EXIF data it was the 8/7. Dirt track, frozen puddles, gentle sun at 7.30 AM although -3.8 degrees.

it was back in april i think, out on the beach with Xsiv and his mate, full throttle up the dunes, making the big hill look easy..... mind you i was ignoring the fact the alternator was overvolts, start motor had given up, coolant was leaking out of the head gasket, oil was spewing out of the oil pump, ps pump was leaking like a sieve, clutch was only working after pumping it alot etc etc,, but who doesnt get that warm fuzzy feeling when your full throttle in a V8 up a dune.....

My mate got a warm fuzzy feeling from mine the other day.

He tells me that he had been a bit down because he thought his wasn't as nice as it could be, and he also hasn't had a chance to use it off road for a while.

Then, he said, when I rolled up in mine... it made his look so much better !

With friends like that... eh !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

My warm fuzzy feeling without hesitation would most certainly have to be 2 weekends ago camping up at Barington tops with a few mates ... the drive home was the real fuzzy moment... for those of you who know the trip from the top of Barrington tops to Scone would know how nice Moonan outlook where the gate is, and then you drive out of the trees into an amazing view!!!

winding your way down a narrow dirt road cut into the side of the mountain ...

Going down some very washed out steep tracks off the Putty Rd with another Defender and a Pajero. Looking back to see that the other defender was behind me and the Pajero was stuck and had to be snatched out of a hole we had both just crossed over easily. The smiles were very wide and the fuzziness was very warm

My last warm and fuzzy was this morning on the way to work.

Cruising nice, warm and comfy in the D1 300Tdi.

Next warm and fuzzy will be on the way home shortly.

Oh I sure can agree on the feeling you describe from the Moonan outlook. Last time I was up there was beautiful sunset, standing in some fresh snow, I stood there for a good half hour just watching the sun go down after a good day with my Disco.

My last warm fuzzy feeling was this morning after I gave the girl a well overdue wash and treated it a valve clearance adjustment too - started her back up and she sounds so much happier!

I can relate to the start of this thread. My D1 V8 has been up on stands for almost a month also. I'm doing a full bush replacement plus fixing a couple of other minor issues I have at the moment.
I know that my next warm and fuzzy shall be sunday wek when I back her ou of the garage and take her for a run.
I miss driving my old girl so much. Driving the Civic is akin to going to the fridge for a bottle of water
    On the other hand,
Driving the D1 is like sitting in a bar with a scotch and dry (now there's warm), whilst looking down my wifes top (and there's fuzzy)
