With the unspoken assumption that your daily driver does more kilometres than your other vehicle! (if any). My daily driver is the 2a - it is a rare day I don't drive it somewhere, although not often more than 10km. But the County, which I drive usually once a week into town, plus several (often interstate) trips per year, does probably at least five times the mileage!

In our household:
1989 Daihatsu charade - my daily driver (~20km/day)
1997 Saab 900 - my better half's (~70 km/day)
1986 LR 90 - weekend toy
1984 LR 120 - touring
The daily drivers definately do more kms than the hobby cars, but considering that I haven't started either of the landies in > 6 months, that's doesn't say much.
When both landies are going, I estimate doing:
~3,000kms/year in the 90 (weekend fun & short 4WD trips)
~7,500 kms in the 120, (long 4WD trip(s) + assumed yearly round trip to Adelaide)
~6,000kms in the Charade (daily commute)
~21,000 in the Saab (daily commute).
Loosely based estimates. Even assuming that we will always take a landy on our yearly pilgrimage accross the Nullabor, the daily drivers still win hands down.
Daily is my 1977 HZ Kingswood, gets driven probs 200-300kms a week to and from Uni at St. Lucia. More if i am going out to the property. I change the oil every 3000kms which equates to at least 3 times a year, coming up to my third this year in about a month so maybe I have done a bit more this year.
My 1970 ex-mill IIA gets driven on weekends to work and to mates places, it probably does around 1/4 the mileage that the kingswood does - basically if it's not peak-hour traffick I'll drive the IIA around. Gets driven 4-5 times a week at least to various places, take the dog in the back too. And of course if i'm going camping or 4WDing I take the IIA.
I love my old cars, they have all been VERY relyable, especially the kingswood as it gives me no troubles whatsoever even though I abuse it a bit driving through brisbane peak hour traffick![]()
Anyone riding a motorbike to work daily ?
