My daily driver, mainly to work and back, is a 1985 Ford/Mazda Telstar Ghia, bought on ebay for $242.50, 3 years ago.
Apart from a new set of tyres, I would have spent under $200 on it in repairs....still have it in battleship grey undercoat, my cousins who drive around in red and blue fast cars with pretty lights on top have stopped pulling me over for a chatthey just wave to me now.
Went through a very severe hail storm where just about every car in the staff carpark stuffed moderate to extreme damage.....my damage......not one dint and no broken glass.
At home it's the Defender and the missus does most of the k's. At work (50% of my life...2 weeks on 2 off) it's either the LFV (Large Fire Vehicle), Nissan Navara or Cub Car golf buggy![]()

1974 2 door RRC, 2nd owner fitted Chev and gas at around 100k k's, drove it towing a van around Oz for 150k k's.
Someone else owned it in the interim doing unknown k's. I've had it for 10 years. Did about 120k k's then did a body swap from a red 81 2 door. Re-coed and fitted the Ritters C9 / LT 95 trans that came with the 81.
Have done another 60k k's with this combo with no hassles. Goes anywhere I have to, including interstate and central Melb.
So it's done about 400k on this motor and costs about 10 - 12 cents per km on gas.
cheers, DL
