Has anyone ever tried the marks 4x4 adapters Nissan portals on a RRC?
I understand you would end up around $20k after install and diff purchase:eek:
Would Volvo be the go? if so where would one start to find them these days?What could one expect to pay for a set of Volvo's?
Trailcraft,in Sydney used to do some unimog mods I've heard, but i understand Volvo's are the go due to suitability.

been, done and gone...........Maxi Drive made and sold bolt on portal boxes for rovers. There are a few (disco 1, defenders) that have been engineered in oz with these.
they gave 123mm of drop, were only 85mm wide. 4 gear design. Used stock rover brakes.

Bill Larman made his own from a bunch of Land Rover parts and some home made fabrication and lathe work. Also made an underdrive unit using planetary gears from a Jeep transmission and an overdrive splitter from an LT95 gearbox for his Land Rover shown below.
Most of us only dream of what Bill executes.
