    Question RRC 3.5 Spark Plugs ??

    G'day Folks

    I know that this question should probably be in Technical, but I need an answer fairly soon, I have just pulled the plugs on our 1/1985 4 dr classic rangie 3.5litre carbied motor 9.35:1 comp ratio,on gas, and the standard listings for it are Champion N9Y or N12Y post 86 unleaded, this has NGK's in it,standard listing BP5ES 0r BP6ES post86 unleaded,this has BKR6EKB in it the closest I can find in my NGK catalogue is for BMW's and a listing "2 ground electrodes special for TOYOTA

    Any help would be appreciated

    You can fit those again if you like, as they are the same heat range etc, just twin ground electrodes and a 5/8" socket size to remove(Thats the 'K' in the first part of the part number) instead of 13/16". I however use NGK BPR5ES or 6ES (Colder), or in earlier vehicles without EFI etc you can use the non resistor type BP5ES/ 6ES.

    Either way, DO NOT use champion plugs in a Rover V8.

    Thanks Justin, I have a NGK cattledog, from 94/95 and had sussed out the type, it is just that I had not come across those in a Rover V8 before, it is running OK, it is just that I am doing a minor tune-up,idle, timing (8*before), carbs on gas, 9.35:1 and that is what it is sweet at also a new filter ERR3340R.

    CHAMPION I used to work there in Sydney as a Quality Control Inspector I wouldn't even use them in the mower, they were using pre WW11 machinery running at 2X with unskilled labour so you can guess.
