hey im going to fix my series one 80inch chassis up soon and was originally thinking that i would galvanize is but now im thinking paint.so what do you think is best and why? i would imagine cost would not be much different

I had mine done a few years ago, and warping with a chassis frame really isn't an issue.
However I sort of wish in some ways I had just painted it now, although thats only becasue I keep thinking about future mods, say coil overs, and the galvanising makes it a real pain.
The galvanising is a much more durable finish, and will stop rust even if scratched through to the steel underneath.
Galvanising requires the frame to be very clean. the end result depends on the ability/laziness/mood of the operator of the hoist aswell.

If you can clean the chassis very well then IMO nothing it is better that a full paint program using POR15

On what basis??? Steel yachts/boats aren't hot dip gal'd, so you cannot compare like vs like.
Galvanising will protect areas of bare steel up to 6 mm diameter from corrosion (if surrounded by galvanised material). I bet POR15 doesn't?
I have seen galvanised steel in regular contact with salt water last 30 years without needing any maintenance. How often do you need to reapply POR15???
Well there are a lot of galvanized parts in steel boats that get rusty after some time specially where they recieve impact from water. The rigging screws are one of them that many sailor using them because unlike the SS screws on the gal to replace them when rust is present.
Other examples are the ruddre and rudder post and I can keep going on.
The under coat of POR15 after dry you do not tremove it with a chisel and hammer and no paint bite on it. The second coat have to be apply when the paint is tacky to bite on the under coat
One application more severe than marine and vehicle chassis is the inmersed centrifugal pumps used on the sewerage ponds and on the liquid fertilizer miexers.
The gal pump bodies last about 6 months and then an overhaul have to be done.
The POR 15 painted bodies last over 4 years and when removed for general maintenance the body of the pump was OK.
If the above examples are not good enough for you then..........it is your call
Consider zinc coating too, it's self healing and every bit as good as gal. Consult sandblasters/industrial coating specialists.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
