Cal I reckon next time more of us should camp!! I think that alone will turn it into a greater event.
be good to get a few more displays in there also I reckon..and I'm not talking the ones where you buy stuff :D

Maybe then you should plan the event when the weather is warmer and we won't have to freeze our bits off  and a light in the shower wouldn't go amiss either :wasntme: (angry camper)
Apart from that it was quite a good day :D, nice to meet a few folk and have a chat. Also to see a few landrovers and drool over the goodies.
My trip down was rather eventful as my clutch decided it didn't want to play after 150 kilometres, however after a call to m r automotive and following their suggestion to "hit new clutch cylinder with hammer":eek::eek: and let slipping clutch cool down, it amazingly worked and got us to the showground ( although still slipping slightly up hills )
Thanks to everyone in convoy for being patient ;)
On the return journey, after 200 kilometres the clutch stopped slipping altogether and was back to normal :) so if anybody can explain what's happened ..??
We decided to take a couple of days to get back and have a look along the coastline as we've never been to nsw. At Nambucca Heads we had an early morning walk along the beach (in the cold) and spotted four whales and three dolphins playing around in the water, but left camera in car so no pics.
All in all it turned out to be a good trip, it's the first time we've loaded up the county and done anything like this, we covered 2,140 kilometres in total. The clutch problem remains a mystery until I get it back to the garage and let them have a look, but apart from that everything went fine.
When I picked my dog up from the kennel on Monday, I was talking to the proprietor about where I had been - she is very familiar with the Castle Hill Showground, and tells me it is always windy, and a terrible place to camp!

Nice to see you again on Sunday sorry I didn't have a lot of time.
Where would your suggestion be for a LR/RR Club show in Sydney? Particularly one with camping available!
Diana
P.S. I like the camping/caravan park on the Colo River (Putty Road) but that is no good for the show itself.
Isn't that van park closed now??
The only thing I found bad about camping at the showground was the wind, not much you can do about that though.
The toilets were clean and had paper, the showers were clean and had hot water, the sites were big enough and flat with power or no power if you wanted, it was cheap and close to the venue, I mean really what else do you bloody want:spudnikwhat::spudnikwhat:
Good grief people:Thump:
Baz.
welcome to AULRO;)
a highlight for me
After arriving, didn't even have time to get the ratdog out of the car nor get the boys out of their PJ's an older gentleman was having a perve at the Turdis and informing me of his previous ownership of one identical to it. After the scrutiny he informed me that I did not have the original wheels on my vehicle and asked what front axle was on it 'cause it's not a county axle. I informed him it was an RRC axle. His reply "your going to get marked down for that"
The phrase "WGAF" came into my head, but I uncharacteristically did not say anything.
I had come of backshift and was doubling back to arvo picked up the boys and drove 100+km each way to the expo in between shifts. I had not had a caffeine, protein or nicotine fix and was feeling a tad tetchy.
I was better that I just shut up. If he had got me 30mins later, different story. Mind you I did nearly manage to upset Mrs Ho Har.
For that I apologize.
The worst part of the expo for me, being officially barred from future drinking sessions with Redback.
I'll just have to get Kerry drunk next time.;)
