Hey, Lou,
Please put a rangie roof on that. If it weren't for the rear door, the hippy roof on mine would have been long gone.
I would love to see the end product of this! i have often played with the thought of putting a rangy dash in my Disco, changing the front end is a great idea, as when your looking out the windscreen you will think your in a rangy![]()
I am sure I have seen it done in English LR mags. Looks OK, but you still have the Disco roof line. All you need to do then is fit a Rangie roof and split fold tailgate and the job would be complete...![]()
I saw one at KLR Automotive some years back. The owner lived up in Hornsby and I had a good chat to him about it.
I've also seen one in an LR mag (I may have it here somewhere) and it looked remarkably good. In fact it was much better than the original Disco.

Your not going to believe this..... I found itLand Rover International May 1988 page 38.
I cant scan here ATM
I'll try to take pics of it and post up.
Looks to have minor surgery to the last 5" of the front guards. I should be up to it.I have some damaged panels here to pratice on.
For some reason the Rangie hues at the front look OK with the hump in the roof. This one is dark Blue in colour.
Has the complete Rangie interior swapped over including the Dash. I will be leaving the disco dash in place as has a much better Aircon set up. Just need to find a wood grain kit for it. If it turns out any good may be a keeperAs the 300 tdi R380 and lt 230 are well proven to me as far as Rover running gear goes. Mine also has an ARB rear locker fitted so will be good to go. There will be no stupid lifts or big tyres here as the Rangie is for that
