Cowling removal
Does anyone know of an easy way to remove the cowling behind the radiator on a 200tdi defender. It drives me nuts having to do it and takes me ages. Lots of swearing, grazed nuckles and damaged radiator fins. Can I trim it down a little? I left it off for a while until some beach work sent me running for it again.

if its anything like the RRC clowling I cut a small notch in my cowling about 30mm x 20mm so it would just pull up and over the fan "spindle" (bolt or whatever its called) once the fan is unbolted.
Its still a pita but better then it was.

On my RRC , I undo the fan, and undo the cowling screws, then lift them both out at the same time.
Reverse to refit.
Takes two hands and holding mouth correctly.
