I didn't think qld had a 5 cylinder rego amount, we have always payed 6 cylinder ego for our td5![]()
Well got the renewal notice for our 07 Defender the other day, opened it and glanced across the detailsI noticed in number of cylinders, it said 5!!!
I was heading down to mainroads to sort another matter out and took it with me. I asked the Lady behind the counter if there was a price difference to which she replied "yes". She said she had to sight the engine to change anything but lucky I was in it that day, so we went outside and poped the bonnet, I had to explain the reason for 5 little pipes on the manifold and she was happy
We went back inside and she dropped my rego by over $200/year
So the interesting thing was it was Land Rover who registered the vehicle for us as a new carI guess as it was a very early delivery mainroads my not have had it in the system yet but we paid it like that for 2 years
Oh well. All I can say is go check yours
Cheers,

You lot are lucky. In NSW you would have had to have had a blue slip done to adjust the rego records.

Not sure if there is a difference between 5 & 6cyl's but worth a phone call I recon![]()
5 and 6 are the same band in Qld.
Good spot John!
Yes. QLD Main Roads always treated my Td5 as a 6 cylinder (why wouldn't they if they can gouge you for a few hundred more dollars?). One of the first things I checked on my first rego renewal was that they had the number of cylinders correct.
