    Unhappy Rambo is sold...

Just got confirmation that the bloke intested in my truck is committed to buying it. So Rambo is off on a new adventure and after all the work I put into it from a $400 wreck into roadworthy condition the bloke buying it didn't want a RWC... so after 6 months registration she will be unregistered indefinatly at this bloke's property

He did however express an interest in re-registering it in the near future for his sons to drive as his neighbour is a friendly mechanic so hopefully that ill work out and it will see active road use again. He was also really impressed with how it drove on-road (I did have to give him a quick lesson on double-clutching and endure a few failed attempts at this) so hopefully that will spur him on to get it registered again and back up the beach going caping where it belongs

Don't worry though, I still have the 80" 1951 Series 1 up at the property which in the future will get alot more attention (and I'm keeping my replica ARN plates)

    Time to change my signature

I don't think my series 1 is ex-mill... what are the defining features of a Series 1 ex-mill, didn't think there were any

A few were trialled, but the Australian Army never ordered them en masse. The Navy had a few civvy ones, and some pommy ones were utilised by Aussie troops in Korea or Malaya (?)

I believe some were also used during weapons testing in the late 50s. They were pommy spec and I don't think there were many. garrycol used to own one of these.

I'm hoping to have the Series 1 in a presentable condition for the Landrover Jamboree next year
