My 16 yo son went to a funeral today. One of his female class mates mother died the other day. She has no father as he walked out on the family when she was two. She is an only child.
Her only family is an uncle who lives in Sydney. After the funeral her and the uncle are leaving to fly back to Sydney where she will start a new life, leaving behind all her friends. We live in a small town in country Victoria.
Before my son got home my wife got an unusual text from him saying among other things "I love you Mum"
I am getting a little emotional typing this.
Dave.
That's no good. Anyway cheer up and I hope you guys are all OK.

You posted them, You can explain.
Dave.
A Sad story like this just shows the sad outcome from the breakdown of the family unit, atleast she had some family to turn to albeit from another state...
On a brighter note it sounds as though your son has learnt from it and has opened his eye's abit more to his own family.,Feel happy and proud of him as not many 16y/o boys today would.
Cheers Ean
some times we get frustrated with our parents for various reasons
then I read something like this and remember that they are not too bad
