    REAR BELT DRIVE FOR S1 /2 L/R

I have a rear PTO driven, belt drive of the back of a landrover these are very rare and hard to come by and I was just woundering if an body has had any experence with them or has any details on them.
I know they were used mainly for farm work to drive saw benches, chaff cutters etc

What do you need to know? I have used them in the past on a pump and a saw bench.

Don't use them as a step to get in the back, as the drum rotates when you step on it, and you end up with skin missing.

    Just a couple of questions:
    • What is the serial number of the PTO unit? It will be a 6 figure number starting with "86".
    • What is the serial number of the belt drive unit? (Similar number.)
They are not all that rare - I have one, Bob Shannon has one, Patrick Sutcliffe has one, Garry Cooke has one, although they are sought after by the S1 restoration crowd.

A couple of important facts, when a belt drive was fitted the vehicle was also fitted with a minimum 5 or 6 row oil cooler, hand throttle quadrant and engine governor.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    G'day Hodgo

That is a nice complete rear flat belt drive unit, as Lotz-A-Landies has said they might not be that rare in NSW, but in Qld they are pretty thin on the ground, it might be worth posting this in the Pinnacales,Series1 section, as there could be somebody that may want one

    cheers
