However if they do sell it here the tax will have to be paid, it will have to get local roadworthy etc (if it hasnt alrady) and so on and so forth.

I don't think so Vlad.
AFIK the $ 2500 is what they have to give the Customs Dept.
Alternately it goes to the crusher and they don't have to pay anything.
I don't think you have to sell with a RWC?

No you don`t have to sell with a road worthy, but you must hand the plates in and sell it unregistered.Which in this case is not such a issue.

SOLD !
To a man with a penchant for Projects :o
A LROCV member has bought it to restore :)
Think you will find that some lightweights and rag top 90's made it too the Falklands. and later after the dust had settled LR set up a major(ish well for the falklands big) outlet there and send numerous landy's to the islands each year to be snapped up by the locals
It will be a pretty interesting project to restore, particularly with a hole in the roof for the sunroof, no front hubs or brakes - Eric sold them off - heater demister gone, sold, speedo sold, snorkel sold, steering wheel sold, seats sold, overdrive sold. A new big hole in between the cab and casualty compartment, lining off the walls, most if not all of the military fittings gone and extra holes in the mudguards and firewall to boot.
