    Did you remove the nut?

Assuming that you can hold everything, try WD40 overnight.

I have it soaking in it now, but how do you hold the shock still while you try to undo the nut on the bottom... was thinking a monkey wrench....

Oh, I'm assuming the little flats on the end of the threaded section hasn't worked (as usual with them!) If they have, also try vice grips.

Stiltsens may do the trick but will crush the shock which may be a problem if the nut doesn't release. I guess you could try it with the piston sitting under the stiltsens in the shock.

Team effort, we wrap the shock with belting and tie it off so that it resists rotation. somebody holds the shock body as best as possible and try to loosen the nut again. So far I haven't had to go beyond that.

I was having a little bit of a think about it and that seems to be the way to go... I was thinking about putting some whipper snipper line around the shock in a choke hold and go from there.... Hopefully the WD has worked its magic..

    I use these from supercr##p - for a couple of $ they're not bad.

they fit between the coils easy, and if you grab at the base of the shock, there isn't too much damage. But you may have no choice in order to get them off.

a pair of multi grips will fit through the spring and will be able to grip the base of the shock where the knurling is. undo the top nut with a rattle gun first then chassis lift the vehicle to get full droop (be careful of your brake lines.)

Filter removing plyers work most the time for me, as long as they are a twin tubed shock as you can crush them abit, (bilsteins don't like it).
It gets very frustrating, thats why i like the look of the d2 shock setup

Nut splitter? Can't remember whether you have enough room for one.

I usually find that vice grips on the very bottom of the shock works (put in through the coils - and remember that jacking up the chassis and lowering the axle increases the space between the coils).

Just had to remove my front shocks, vice grips work very well, clamp them on the part where it tapers down to the pin
