I lost my father recently , then my grandmother and they whacked me onto Lexapro ... then Sept 09 after a few months of feeling sick and tired all the time being told I have prob got a staph infection given countless antibiotics ect ect I was diagnosed with testicular cancer , that was on the Wednesday that Monday I was on the slab getting cut apart .
Lost my left testicle , heaps of tissue in my pelvic floor .They put me onto Lexapro ... only thing is Lexapro kills testosterone and is on the SSRI class of Drugs ... someone should have known something .

So my Testosterone level is 8.3 , should be around 25 I cant get a doctor to listen to me , no one knows squat about hypogonadism let alone the effects of antidepressents .

Since studying madly , and being taught by LIVESTRONG and testicular council ... i suggest all of you to go and get a testosterone level check ..
if it is low hypogonadism is to blame and is the leading cause of male suicide around the world , men from 35 and over should be checked annually at the very least .
Funny how Pfizer sells pills that drop your testosterone and makes you "addicted" to it .

Most of the dizziness and loudness in your ears dropping fast ect ect is because the drug has dropped your tesosterone levels and the seratonin can't cope .

I am still mending internally from the surgery [ belive me vasectomy has nothing on this pain] and have little core strength but with the correct monitored medications the end result will be worth it .

I so agree with the Landrover / depression thingy lol I nearly burnt mine til Lucus came to the rescue
Haven't you been through the wringer Hope all is progressing well with recovery.

Ok I think i may have confused a few people .... maybe i didn't word it properly .

I Don't want to stop the pills cold turkey . The bit i hate about the pills is remembering to take them . I'm going back to the doc soon to see if she thinks it's time for me to be weaned off the pills . If she thinks i need to go longer then i will .

I feel that i have beaten my demons and back on the right track and enjoying life again . So i'm not out to sabotage myself but giving up the pills .

I agree going cold turkey is a counterproductive and potentially damaging thing to do, weaning off them if advised isn't a quick thing either, months if not a year or two is sometimes required. At any rate, it is important to listen to yourself aswell as the GP.

Keep going onward and upward Mick!
