    old rover , free ?

    i am at a caravan park in dongara in w.a. they inherited this old rover when they bought the park way back and now they just want to get rid of it if no one wants it , it will be taken to the tip , there was no mention of money they have no idea what year or model it is . the owner of the park is ron but at the moment he is on holiday but his dad is looking after the place for him and he is the one i was talking to, there phone number is 0899271210 . it has a holden motor in it someone did try and get it started it fired once and thats all

    Looks like a late series 2a shorty. Wide lights, proper hinges, metal 'dash'.
    Body looks surprisingly straight but i'll bet the rust isn't just superficial.

    If you get the chassis number then we can work out what year it is..firewall or the left hand rear spring hanger......looks like the right guard has tool brackets on it

    Home made brackets, by the look of it.

    Late 2a LWB, Wide eye, single wiper motor, Hex nuts on windscreen retainers instead of older wingnuts, was a 4 cyl, originally. (provided that's the original box).


    I'll take the tex-magnalite......

    the bonnet looks like it has military clips...though it has sills...

    Yer looks pretty ratted to me. Chassis will be rooted, holden motor has probably chewed the box and its had a hard life on the beach so diffs will be well worn.

    Worth stripping for ancillaries and parts and sending the rest to Sims though.

    Nope.

    The military clips sit at the front edge of the bonnet. These look like the S1 clips, with the little "butterfly" retainers on the bonnet.
