As a newbie to buying off shore, say a secondhand Discovery from Japan.
Anyone use custom Brokers? In the case of your spare parts again how does one organize importing through customs.

you can import anything under $1000 value fairly easy. once you go over that there are alot of fee's that require paying. jump on the customs website for a better look.

Thanks for the lead...I found I'm unable to import a Land Rover no later than 1988, so thats a dead end. Turns out that what we have here is well priced anyway. On $1000 or less sounds great for spares...

I got a pair of Firestone Coil-Rite airbags from Truckspring this week.
    I've even fitted them already

I'll be keeping my eye out for other stuff too.

I had to trim the supplied top coil mount thingys to get them to go up into the hole. I also made some bottom spacers from plastic cutting boards which you will have to do too as I presume you have lifted springs.

Other than that it was pretty straight forward and they have performed flawlessly for two days now

They took seven days to my door (5 business days).
