    Hey Capt,

It's the track/road that goes from Pomona Kin Kin Rd through to Tin Can Bay/Rainbow Rd.
Generally a good option of getting to rainbow if tide is high, and heaps shorter and quicker than going up the highway. (though not much fun if it's shake rattle n roll all the way)

my only trip to frazer was in the early 1970's in a VW beetle with wide wheels so I can't advise, but I thought Frazer Island was great, and hope you enjoy your trip. I could not leave the beach though as I bogged in deep wheel ruts left by 4 wheel drives, every time I tried a road into the lakes.

I did it in the early 80s in a Type 3 wagon with wide wheels and a lift. After a night's rain got into Central Station and Lake Mackenzie.

The Cooloola report is a bit sus as Qld national Parks is trying to stop people going along Rainbow Beach.

I did it about 4 weeks ago and it was plain sailing with my camper trailer . I posted some pics.
The lady? behind the counter at Rainbow NP office tried to convince me to go the Freshwater track but I was unwilling due to the dry weather and the big sand pull up to the lake where you can have trouble if you meet someone especiaaly if you have a camper on the back.

    Phillip - I've searched and I can't find your piccies ?? Link?

Do you mean that you went from the Leisha track around to Rainbow?

It's probably a bit academic for me as the day we go up there it's a king tide of 2.2 at 10am.

I phoned DERM as they are now called and Cooloola Way is closed for fire reasons at the moment. They also said that on a king tide day we wouldn't have any beach to get from Noosa even to fresh water

    Hey Capt,

    Cheers for that.

Did Leisha & Freshwater 10 days ago, they're both fine, but you won't get around Rainbow for trees anywhere near high tide (& obviously if its a king). Rocks weren't bad at Mudlo though.

Drove all of Teewah at high tide, it was 'ok' but in some parts, almost as soft as I've ever seen it.
With Cooloola Way closed, looks like I'll be heading up the highway to Inskip
