Used to have one in 1968 - wrote it off it in a sandpit, circa 1970

I was almost exited for a wileThought it was the real one
Finding a good model is a great effort though.
With the likely demise of these things they will be very collectable as soon.
Even in real life a beautiful hand built car but quirky. If things were good here now I'd import the last one made with out a second thought.
I actually had a gold one when I was a kid. (Corgi #261) however they now sell for many hundred dollars. Got a pretty good price on this one as it is a bit knocked around - gotta love that exchange rate!!!
My next door neighbour's son had one for a while about thirty years ago - got it after his Austin Healey Sprite got run over by a truck. He got me to try and help him from time to time with some of his mechanical problems - I was not much help, not having double jointed elbows; one of the most tightly crammed engine bays I have seen, nearly as bad as a Citroen SM.
He finally decided he could not afford to run it and replaced it with some Jap sports car, can't remember what.

I've got a couple of the gold ones knocking around (restored from wrecks) and a couple of the first issue of the silver ones (the slightly larger scale than the gold ones; these had the revolving number plates, tyre slashers in the rear wheels as well as the machine guns, bullet proof shield and ejector seat) great fun
I restored these in a lull when I couldn't find any 1:43 Rolls Royces to restore which is my main model collection.
