After 30 years up here in the top end it is time to say goodbye. It's a weird weird feeling with many mixed emotions sort of the same feelings I went through when my marriage broke up.
I am going to miss the place always and I will always have a soft soft for the it, but enough is enough and time to begin a new chapter in my life.

Top of the list of places at the moment is the Adelaide Hills If I can get enough for this place there is a lovely place in McLaren Vale and looks like I have plenty of work down there as well
Sorry to hear you're headin South.
Do the wineries at the Vale have anything to do with it?![]()
Cheers, Dale

Nice part of the world. Close to Adelaide, but not too suburban.
Good luck with the move. Buy up big on jumpers prior to winter though, or you'll be in thermal shock. We occasionally get -3 and -4 here in Balhannah, which will be miles away from what is considered cold up in Darwin.
Yeah! it can get pretty cold around here too, let allown down Adelaide way. But, they say a change is good as a holiday. Good luck with the move.![]()
Yeah I'm not happy with the reasons why we are leaving but now that it is only about 2 months or less I am starting to look forward to it.
Having lived in Darwin and Top End for 8 yrs, I can tell you there will be times when you miss it.
I found when I moved to Perth I really struggled with the traffic, but quiet enjoyed the cold winter months.
I was born and grew up in the McLaren Vale area, so can say you've picked a great spot to move to. No crocs on the beaches there!!
All the best, enjoy yourself.
Greg
Sorry to hear we are loosing another Territorian, but I must say I like your choice of Destination, visited there last year and was of the opinion that if I ever left the territory I could certainly spend some time around those area's.
Good luck with the move,
Cheers Ean
