Exo Cage Time for the Defender Can please Help witha few Pics(Also Ext Shock Mounts)

    Hi Guys.

A friend of mine is going to build a roll cage for mine(110 single) and his(130 sinlge), but need a few ideas.

I have seen a few defenders on this forum with exo cages, so if you could would please post a few pics of yours or ones you have seen.

I like the ones with mounts for the square spot lights above the roof

Also if anyone has a few pictures of their Extended rear shock mounts that they have built that would be very helpful as well. (Inc measurements would be even better)

    Thanks Ben

Ben if 110/130 single means ute, this is my first attempt, 50 mm aluminium scaffold tube. Bends fine, welds fine. Hope these photo's help.

Got the rear hoop first try, some times you just get lucky.

Do you think the alloy would be strong enough in a heavy roll over?

    thanks Ben.....

Tube has 5mm wall, not sure of the alloy but has reasonable tensile strength, sometimes its better for the cage to deform a little and absorb some of the impact. Cages are cheaper than head/brain injurys. Guess it comes down to how hard you hit. Anything has to be better than the winscreen surround and 1.2mm aluminium thats between you and eternity at the moment.

Do you have more pics of the area around your safari snorkel and how you got that to fit?

    Looks a real neat install...

Here is the mogrover's cage. It has withstood quite a few flops AFAIK.
