RYCO filters now sourced from China
I visited The new Kmart which opened in Erina Fair last week.
I poked around the car section and had a look at the Ryco filters.
Looked at several and all were "Made in China to Ryco specifications"
Noted that the 89A for a Rover V8 has reduced to $10.80 or so.
I wonder if one of out oil Gurus could cut one open and comment on the anti drain back valve quality and general material quality.
Disappointing as it looks like even their ZA factory cannot compete , and they have joined the exodus. But are they Good Chinese or crap Chinese?

Sorry most filter these days are made in china or asia regardless of brand.
If you think you are buying a fleet guard brand for example and think you are buying american .......think again.
I can right now with any order of over 500 filters of one type get it painted and printed with what colour and name I want.
Look carefully on some better name filters and scratch away the paint and you will find a different brand underneath.
The whole sale import price of a Z89 is some think like $1.50 each.
I know as a business in the automotive game I can purchase for $3.00 each
America , Aust and Japan now makes very little.
Buy a Bobcat skid steer...american ?.......wrong its made in china.
Jap utes ....made in asia
Ford and Holden small cars..........made in Asia.
Ryco filters made in New Zealand have priced themselves out of the market.
Wix filters are still made in America but are not selling and dont have market share due to price,,,,,but they are a good filter.
NSW Govt new electric trains for sydney......bought and owned by the Govt.....wrong ...... we just rent them.( from china)
The sad truth........china rules.
