    Help Phoenix buy a discovery!

This time around, it's not a case of needing somebody to look at it, but helping convince the better half who jsut found redbook saying $4500 - $6500 and is saying that is too much

    The details.
    $7000 (naturally i'll ofer less )
1996, 5 Door, Manual Discovery series 1 in white.
    Alloys
Some bends in the front and rear bumpers.
    240,000 km
    11 months rego.
timing belt done 4000 km ago

no off roading accessories , but looks like it has a sunroof. could be nice

what's different on this one? well this is the bit i'm not sure about. from the sellers mouth.
It goes a lot better than a standard Diesel Disco thanks to a 3" exhaust and water-to-air intercooler which works a treat. It went from 165nm to 212nm at around 2500 rpm so major improvement. It will sit on 110kms no problem up the outlet where before a standard one is lucky to do 90 at the top with a run up. We tried an air to air larger intercooler on the front but the water-to-air still outperformed it. It has been on for about 6-7 months.

Have all dyno sheets. Will do around 800kms to a tank.
It has a pyro gauge, boost gauge and water temp gauge for the intercooler. New sterio system.
Thoughts and comments. Power is nice, but will it affect the longevity of the motor?

and 2 pics. I'm looking at it saturday.

What's the go with the aftermarket intercooler, I doubt it would get any cooling air through it on the side there, Regards Frank.

It's a water to air intercooler. The owner works at a radiator place doing intercoolers. apparently he tried a lot of different things to see what worked well.

actually I want a defender, but I can't find any cheap enough or tidy enough close enough.

I love that grey one on the LROCV site, as does the missus, but it's been sold.
