Wait a tad longer,with the D4 being released D2s will fall further in worth as owners MAY be upgrading????.
I rekon you will get a good D2 for not alot more than that in the near future.You may need to jump across to the mainland to do so but worth the consideration.

anybody near enough to these to look at them for me?

Both look tidy for their age, but yards are good at presentation. I'd be offering a grand less than what they're asking. I bought mine a couple of years ago, privately ex Melbourne. I found Melbourne to have the best cars and prices in the country. I scoured the eastern states from Cairns to Melbourne.

I'm mainly looking at the white one at the start of this post. It may come cheaper as it sounds like the tyres are ready for replacement as well.

I thought about trying for a TD5, but I'm still a little unsure about the issues related to the earlier ones, which is where I would be looking at price wise. I've been informed of a 94 at a dealer in town as well, so i'll look at saturday as well. I am very wary of dealers though, hence why I like the non dealer one. We'll see what pans out.

Depending on what it's worth to you. Remember, as a private sale you have no recourse or warranty. I personally would only be offering $5-5.5k, and ready to duck when doing so. How long has it been advertised? Leave your emotions behind when you go to see it, easier said than done I know.

It's not been advertised at all so far, and needs tyres. so unless it is exceptional it's probably more an exercise in having a look at one locally so SWMBO knows what she is in for.

I think the heart getting excited about something local is probably getting in the way of the head.

I might know of a very clean 300tdi 110 for sale. Local to my area. Might be a tad too far for you to buy.
