Jeez, some of you boys are wet blankets . Why don't you like Christmas trees?

We generally have ours up by 1 December. The rest of the decorations take 2 - 3 days to get up though. We like to go a bit overboard because we have young kids and in my childhood Christmas was very low key so it's nice to make up for that now. We have baubles hanging from windows and chandeliers; green garlands, fairy lights and decorations up the bannisters; Christmas CD's in the cars etc.

I love Christmas. But I have to try and not bake so much as we all put on too much weight.

I have about 2 kilos of dried fruit macerating in a gallon of Drambuie as I speak - getting ready for the Drambuie and Chocolate Christmas Cake. Bliss!!!

I put the chrissy decorations up at dads work the other day, but my own place is a different matter. My 2 cats love playing with the decorations and have wreaked havoc over the years, so normally no tree and minimal decorations are ever put up. Being away for 6 weeks o/s this year over the holiday period, no decorations at all are going up (unless my mum has other ideas!).

For the first time ever, this year I get to spend christmas with my whole family, and fingers crossed get a white chrissy. I'll let them sort out the decorations. WOOT!

Personally, christmas stuff should never come out before 1st december at the earliest.
