Read an interesting thing
In this months Blues magazine.
A fellow called Alan Passmore started the Centre Bush Bus Company 11 years ago in The Alice.
Their routes cover hundreds of K's around the Territory to the Indigenous
settlements on two day round trips, nearly all on dirt roads.
They have been using a fleet of specially built Hino buses which proved to be reliable and as tough as nails. They are getting old so they invested in some new specially built Isuzu buses.
This is the interesting bit. They have proven to be crap and totally unreliable !!! Their's and the Isuzu mechanics have been battling to keep them on the road !!! Who would have thought it.
They are dumping them and reinvesting in specially fitted Mercedes.
It was a very interesting article and is an interesting life for the drivers.
EG: On one trip he had a mob of kids on board. They spotted a big Goanna crossing the track, so they stopped and spent the next 3 hours hunting Lizards.
The service doesn't always run on time !!
My kind of people.
Cheers.
