    Attempted car theft

Well, I was rudely woken at 4am this morning by a car alarm going off.

After the 3rd restart of the alarm I thought 'that alarm is really close, sounds like it is right below our block of units. Come to think about it it sounds a bit like our car horn......Bugger'

Throwing caution to the wind and a towel around my wast I headed to the car port to find Betty's driver door open and the lights flashing away.

Somehow all the doors except the drivers door was unlocked (button popped up), and the drivers door open!!!

The alarm was not deactivated and so went off when the door was open at which point they must have fled because nothing was taken.

Called the Boys in Blue and they were fantastic, 2 cars up and down the street within 5 min and a knock on the door to get details.

Isn't it a downer when that happens.
I didn't have an alarm, so I lost a good inverter, but they couldn't get the CB out cause it had taken me hours to get it in from under the dash.
Never thought we would get 'got', but we are a bit more cautious now and don't leave it on the street.
Never got the gear back, but the cops caught the pair they think were responsible, cause they had been on a sustained spree and got caught with the stuff they had stolen.
Pity my inverter must have been sold on already.
    cheers
