    Ag Fencing

I've had some friendly advice on constructing a fence by the Ag teacher and outgoing deputy head. Its for dogs and they suggested 900mm rabbit mesh with 3 runs of wire through it. No problem.

I head down to the local bloke and asked for the good gear and he suggest that I have a fencer come out to do it. Bah, I've gotta learn as a wanna be rural!!!! Silmac were good to me and supplied the goodies!!!

So I've strung the lines for the star posts they're all in and looking as sweet as ever with perfect alignment. I really wish the local bloke also suggested that I wear gloves before the dolly shredded my hands.... I'll know now for tomorrow so I'm still ahead.

Anyway, tomorrows job is to run the 3 strands of wire between the posts. I have a strainer doohickey, but I'm after some tips on how to run the wire out without a 1500m birdsnets forming before the first run is completed. Is there a technique or device for this? Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Do it slowly, to avoid tangles. Easiest way I have seen to run posts is using 2inch gal pipe cemented in and painted. Drill the pipe and run the (heavy gauge wire) through cold gal spraying the holes. Get some caps for the top. The heavy wire can be tensioned with a big flat blade screwdriver.

Thats what scares me, that it will cost me another $180 when the wire explodes into a birds nest.

Or do you mean fasten one end, remove the spool ties and then walk it out before refastening the spool ties?

It'll twist to buggery if you pull it out from the coil. A wire spinner is mandatory, esp. for 1500m.
