    Rattle

My son's 2003 Disc II rattles above 2000 revs. Keep it below 2000, no rattle. Any ideas?

can you tell where the rattle is coming from.....?
    catalytic converter.....loose exhaust mounting....engine mount......pinging....etc...

get someone to rev it while you listen below to see if its from the engine or gearbox or exhaust or anywhere else.....

The rattle is coming from the engine but I can't tell where. So I took it for a drive. At about 2500 revs (in Drive -automatic) the rattle (sounds like pinging) started as I backed off the throttle and stopped as I re-applied. In 2nd, it rattled as I backed off and applied the throttle.

Check the Flex-plate (flywheel for autos) is not damaged or torque converter bolts (nuts) not loose, Regards Frank.
