Need a brickie - Western Sydney

I need a brickie to do a small job. I doubt I can easily get anyone to do this as the job is so small.

I have a WeatherWall air conditioner in the wall at the very front of the house. Having installed ducted air, the WeatherWall is no longer needed. I want to remove it and have the hole in the brick work filled in.

I have matching bricks so that's not the problem. My concern is getting a good match on the mortar so that the repair doesn't stand out like the proverbials. Cost isn't the issue and I'm not looking for "mate's rates" - I want a good job as the repair will be visible for years.

(A job done by a brickie at a local building is appalling. The building mortar was grey and the repair has been done with white mortar!)

Does anyone know of a brickie who takes pride in his work and will do his best to mix and match?

No, I don't want the mortar protruding from the joint.

Meant that a tuckpointer usually does a lot of mortar-matching.

Trouble with bricklaying is the corners hurt your bum.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I had considered it but I doubt I can do the job to the standard I want.

However, I would have the time to make up batches of mortar and to allow them to set and then check for colour matching.

    eggs-actly....you can do it !

getting a brickie for such a small job could be difficult if you don't have a tame one who owes you a favour - if you have a go and do not like the results - then go looking for one again at that time

(if I was closer I'd offer to come and supervise)

I'm thinking I may have to plant a tree in front of the repair to hide the mortar.

If I was nearby I'd come and do it for a carton. But unfortunately I don't think I can get much further away. I asked a mate that is in Sydney, but he wasn't interested.
