    Drove home from Melbourne today along the Newell. Noticed a fairly recently burnt patch next to the road just south of Tichborne. Cigarette, I would guess, but could be someone pulled off the road onto long grass (or deliberate!). Looks as if the RFS got onto it fairly quickly, no more than about 10ha burnt.

    Sling em a parachute, knapsack sprayer and wish em the best of luck as you kick them out of a chopper into the middle of the fire front they lit up.

    If they make it though that then charge em with arson and the cleanup costs.
